Thanks to Brett Shipp of Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA, the story of an ICIE family is getting out. On July 8, Shipp profiled the plight of the Marroquin family, who is fighting both the deportation of their father Elmer, but also hoping to rescue their young son from El Salvador. The story focuses on 14-year-old Sylvia, the Marroquin daughter who was brought to America by "coyote" (a human smuggler) last year after violence at her school had her fearing for her life. ICIE continues to fight to keep this family together.
